What is Bone & Mineral Disease?
Chronic kidney disease disrupts the body's ability to regulate calcium, phosphorus, and parathyroid hormone (PTH), leading to weakened bones, vascular calcification, and increased fracture risk — a condition known as CKD-mineral and bone disorder (CKD-MBD).
